Fall Hunting Camp?

Would anyone be interested in a fall hunting camp at Apserkaha? We'd keep it real simple; an early breakfast, guys go off-property to hunt for the day, then have a good supper and campfire or whatever in the evening. Maybe 2-3 days total. The cabins should have heat and light by then and would be available as would the RV sites. Anyone interested?

This week's work

Richard (our camp caretaker) and I are making preparations for the installation of electricity to the twelve sleeping cabins this week. On Saturday we'll be moving a trencher to camp and begin cutting trenches for the installation of underground power lines.

Next week, we're scheduled to install a 30' power pole for the main line off the transformer and a meter post as well.

This weekend we have a work crew of approximately 14 working on brush clearing. Anyone who wants to join us for the weekend or just for the day is welcome.

Inaugural Blog

Ten minutes ago I didn't know what a blog was, now I'm a blogger.

I'm wanting to provide a better way of keeping the TRF body, and anyone else, updated on the fast-moving progress at Camp Apserkaha.

For those who aren't already up to speed; Camp Apserkaha is a county-owned organizational camp located on the Southern shore of Howard Prairie Lake. TRF has recently assumed a five-year lease on the camp.

The camp is located on 66 wooded acres, and has almost one-half mile of lake-frontage. Currently, there is a dining shelter with commercial kitchen, twelve sleeping cabins, and spots for RV and tent camping at the camp.

We anticipate having a wide variety of ministries at the camp in coming years, including adult retreats, youth camps, Super Tuesday outings, as well as link group retreats and family camps.

Feel free to post, forward and reply to this blog.

More to come.
